Growing up in a small town, Kristen Phelps participated in a variety of sports and activities including everything from dance and cheerleading to basketball and track. Her biggest passion in high school was basketball and remained active in intramural and recreational sports at Oklahoma State University, from which she graduated in 2005 with a degree in Marketing.

However, years of accumulated physical and emotional stress quickly led her down the path of chronic neck and back pain – something that many people experience at some point in their lives. By 2010, her body was in a state of distress that she never thought she would have to experience – especially in her 20s. Something had to change! Through consistent and persistent effort, natural healing treatments and strengthening techniques, she was able to overcome this obstacle on the road to achieving her fitness and lifestyle goals. Now, her passion is to help other people do the same!

Kristen has been involved in group training and one-on-one fitness since 2009 and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Association of Sports Medicine (NASM). As a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Kristen’s goal is to help you reach yours – whatever that might be – in the most efficient and effective way possible. She has serviced a variety of clients at many different fitness levels and enjoys the challenges that each individual situation brings. Whether the client considers themselves in “good” shape or “bad” shape, Kristen believes that her training techniques with the combined effort of the individual can produce the desired results.

“We can work around almost anything; just because your situation may have been the reason you didn’t work out, we’re no longer going to allow it to be the excuse. There is nothing that should keep you from experiencing a fit and healthy lifestyle if you so desire.”

Kristen plans to further her training education with a certification as a Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist through NASM. She became a certified Piloxing instructor in November, 2013 and a Piloxing Knockout instructor in November, 2015. Her latest endeavor is WOR Endurance and WORFit at Crossfit West of the River in Sapulpa.

On November 1, 2013, Kristen and her husband, Jordan, welcomed their first son, Sam. A year and a half later, his sister, Linden, joined the family. Sam and Linden currently spend much of their time at the gym with Kristen. Because of these two additions to their family, Kristen can certainly relate to women that are expecting or have just had children as well as all moms who have a busy and demanding lifestyle.
