CrossFit athletes train in 10 physical skills:
- Cardiovascular/respiratory endurance
By optimizing these 10 skills we are able to improve athletic performance across the full spectrum of sports. CrossFit improves these 10 physical skills through constantly varied workouts which involve compound movements and shorter high-intensity cardiovascular sessions, as well as focusing on the Olympic Lifts. For our High School athletes, mastery of the two Olympic Lifts (the clean and jerk and the snatch) train athletes to effectively activate more muscle fibers more rapidly than through any other modality of training. The explosiveness that results from this training is of vital necessity to every sport. Practicing the Olympic lifts teaches one to apply force to muscle groups in proper sequence, ie, from the center of the body to its extremities (core to extremity). Learning this vital technical lesson benefits all athletes who need to impart force to another person or object, as is commonly required in nearly all sports.
Sign up your athlete for personal sports performance training or sign up your entire team! Team-building activities are included in the programming for groups – plus, the competition and camaraderie that comes from performing these high intensity workouts as a team naturally creates bonds between your athletes that will last much longer than their sports season. They will gain friendships and an understanding of the importance of lifelong fitness.
